San Francisco

San Francisco is the most beautiful city I've ever seen. Built on a mountain that rises up out of the ocean, when you're in it you're either going up or down a very steep hill at all times. You can see water from almost everywhere. The buildings are strong and beautiful, a mass of cables runs over the streets, even in August, the breeze is chilly and there's a layer of fog over everything. The sun only peeked out for a couple of hours. More than once yesterday, I wished I lived there.
Yesterday's stops included the Sutro Baths, old swimming pools that were built right on the San Francisco coastline by a millionnaire in the late 1800s. They filled up with the high tide. What the builder failed to realize is that nothing can be built right on the Pacific Ocean that will not one day be destroyed by it.
We spent the rest of the afternoon driving around, stopped for an early dinner at The Irish Bank, a pub in the financial district, before driving back to Healdsburg.
A few pictures are here. More to come.

But did you see where "Full House" was shot? ;) KIDDING. But I couldn't resist. Bob Saget is just good clean fun.
Glad you enjoyed the trip. I can't wait to someday visit that city.

oh your pictures are really amazing. Well, I like cities so, my preference went to the San Francisco ones over the vineyard... but hmm colors and shapes, brillant choices of composition. It was really worth freezing your ass off.
