The Last Lecture
"We cannot change the cards we are dealt, just how we play the hand."
- Randy Pausch
A good friend forwarded the following video, Carnegie Mellon professor Randy Pausch's last lecture, which struck a chord within me of such gratitude that I just had to share it. This particular clip is a 10-minute abridged version of a much longer lecture that Randy gave to his students... ostensibly, to say goodbye. He's dying - of pancreatic cancer that has spread to his liver. It's an incredibly moving story not only of his family's heartbreak, but of the valuable lessons he's gleaned from his life and the legacy he wishes to leave to his three small children.
I only hope that I'll someday reach a point in my life at which I can handle challenges with the grace, gratitude, consciousness and positivity that this man has been able to achieve. We all have so very much to learn from him.
Enjoy:
