4AM Randomness
Everyone says that one's thirties often bring the onset of a bunch of new ailments. My newest one is insomnia. I've been waking up sometime between 3:00 and 5:00 in the morning and then that's it... up for the rest of the night. Then I'm exhausted during the day.
It sucks. I now have newfound compassion for people who have trouble sleeping. I'm hoping this is temporary.
My roomie is also awake. On nights like this we've been bantering back and forth across the hallway about the incredible quality of TV in the middle of the night. It's almost worth staying up on purpose just to see the random crap that comes on!
I'm sure this has something to do with just having too damn much on my mind.
I've never been a pill-popper but if I had something I could take, I think I'd take it at this point.
Last night I joined Yelp for an Elite event at The Pearl Hotel in Point Loma. Bluntly put, the place is badass. Here's my review, along with a few others. The people who bought it basically converted a crappy roadside motel into a posh poolside lounge and restaurant, with totally remodeled hotel rooms complete with flat screen TVs and an incredible modern flair.
It definitely gets my vote for the most unique hotel I've seen in San Diego.
This is the second Yelp Elite event I've been to, and I have to say, they have absolutely succeeded in impressing me (not easy to do). The crowd, at least here in San Diego, seems to be one of the most intellectual I've found and I love it. I met several potential new friends last night and I'm looking forward to doing this more often. As a plus, they hook us up with awesome apparel, like the burst shirt from last year. This time we got TOTALLY cool new hoodies. I love this one so much that I'd actually buy it if I saw it in a store!
4:15 AM. 3 hours and 45 minutes before I have to get up. Thankfully, today is Friday.
