It just isn't right that I sometimes feel violated by social networking sites.
The video at the end of this post is hilarious. Why? Because it's TRUE! Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm on facebook and MySpace. How else am I going to keep in touch with 35 people from elementary school and high school and college and grad school? Of course they can't all be on the same site, so I have to do both.
And you know what? Both of them annoy the crap out of me. Facebook, in particular, is very much like having a child... a child who misbehaves by incessantly nagging and needs to be taught better manners. Do you want to install this application? Do you want to install that application? So and so poked you. Isn't so and so in that picture you posted? TAG THEM! Do you want to be their friend? You have three notifications. You have four friends requests. And another of some other kind of request. Would you like to compare your movie taste with this person? What kind of drug are you? Would you like to throw a sheep at Wesley? Can you confirm that you met on the first day of grad school while chain smoking on a break behind the building to try and get through it? Are you in a relationship? ARE YOU? ARE YOU? With who? What's your religion? How about your political affiliation?
None of your damn business! GAWD!
Did you know that on MySpace, you have to be a near-expert level html hacker just to not be forced to list whether or not you're romantically involved with another person? It's like, you know what folks? I'm not trying to hook up with anyone ON MYSPACE, okay? Honestly, I would be terrified to actually meet 99% of the people I see there. I'm there because there are people I can't keep in touch with otherwise. And you know what? They don't care who I might be sleeping with. I'd rather not define my involvement with another person, if one exists, by a description on a social networking site. So is it alright with you if I JUST DON'T MENTION IT?!? No, I guess it's not. I have to html Tae-Bo your ass in order to keep you from making me answer questions I don't want to answer.

All of that said, you'll understand why I love this:
